Portrait Of A Younger Self by Grishhak Portrait Of A Younger Self by Grishhak
Well... after thinking it over a few times in my head I finally decided to submit something for this contest.

I don't think my previous works are good enough so I did a new portrait. I don't think it is good enough either, but I drew it for this contest and so I will submit it.

It is a portrait of myself back from when I was 10 or 11 maybe. The flowers and the background grew out of my mind while drawing. It's done in pencils, watercolour (eyes, flowers, shirt, background, masking fluid (background) and a tiny bit of coffee (also background)

I think it is better than my last try mixing watercolour and pencils, but it is still a far cry from what I'd like to be able to do. Well, that's why I actually wanted to enter in this competition......

So good luck to my fellow competitors! :)

PS: Critique is very much desired ;-)

For the first time mixing pencil and watercolor this looks fantastic :) I love the expression on her face, she looks so happy and it goes well with the title of being young. The colors and flowers in the background do a really nice job giving a nice and happy aura. Very well done :D

Good job on mixing the two techniques!:) You did it in a clean way, clearly showing the individual qualities of both techniques. Using watercolor for the flowers, eyes and shirt makes sure they are blended well in the composition.
